My spring experiment
Almost everyone knows stinging nettle (Urtica dioica), usually as an annoying weed that burns the skin. Yet it is one of the most powerful native plants of all.
That’s exactly why I decided to experiment:
stinging nettle every day for 21 days – as tea, in a smoothie or cooked.
Why? Because I want to know what happens when you consciously give your body something that has been used as a medicinal plant for centuries.

Why nettle at all?
Nettles have been prized in Europe for generations, especially in spring when the body needs new energy after the winter.
Here are the reasons why I’m starting this experiment 👇

1. natural support for the body
Nettle has a diuretic effect and can support the kidneys in their work.
This means that the body can excrete metabolic products more efficiently – which is why many people traditionally use it as a spring cure.
2. a real nutrient package
What surprises many: nettle is a real superfood.
It contains, among other things:
- Vitamin C
- Vitamin A
- Iron
- Magnesium
- Calcium
- Potassium
It can be an exciting addition, especially for people who follow a conscious or plant-based diet.
3. skin & hair in focus
Due to its minerals and antioxidants, nettle is often associated with healthier skin and stronger hair.
It is traditionally used for:
- blemished skin
- Hair loss
- oily scalp
Does that really make a difference? That’s exactly what I want to find out.
4. anti-inflammatory properties
Nettle contains plant substances that can have an anti-inflammatory effect.
This is why it is often used for joint complaints and has even been studied in connection with osteoarthritis.
5. support for the immune system
With its high antioxidant and vitamin C content, stinging nettle can support the immune system, perfect for the transition period from winter to spring.
6. exciting for allergies
A particularly interesting point:
Nettle is also traditionally used to treat hay fever.
Some studies suggest that ingredients in the plant could have an influence on the histamine reaction in the body.
7. regional, sustainable and free of charge
The best thing about it? Nettle grows practically everywhere.
If you collect them yourself, you are using a regional, sustainable and free source of high-quality plant substances.

My plan for the next 21 days
I do the whole thing consistently:
✔️ Consume nettle daily
✔️ Monitor energy, skin, digestion & well-being
✔️ Document everything honestly
And then?
At the end of the 21 days, I will report:
What has really changed?
Was it just a trend, or is there more to it?
