Our farm festival review

At the end of May, it was that time again: for one day, our herb farm was transformed into a lively meeting place for gardening enthusiasts, people interested in herbs and lots of lovely guests.

With coffee, cake and good conversation, accompanied by the sun’s rays shining through again and again, it quickly became clear that this was going to be a really nice, relaxed day. Many took the opportunity to simply linger a while, exchange ideas or make new contacts.

A lecture that moves and inspires

A very special highlight was Kristin Gasser’s lecture on “Rethinking health – experiences with Artemisia annua, CDL, DMSO & natural healing methods”.

Kristin took us on her own personal journey and shared her insights from nine years of experience with various natural approaches. The main focus was on practical experiences from everyday life with people and animals as well as the many small and large developments that she has been able to observe during this time.

The examples from areas such as skin health, allergies, eyes, chronic complaints and regeneration after injuries captivated the audience. In the question and answer session that followed, the discussions, questions and stories continued for a long time. Just the way we want it: open, honest and at eye level.

Plants, the joy of gardening and a lively exchange

After the lecture, the action moved outside again. Our Artemisia young plant market and the Buntspechtgemüse stand were well attended throughout, and numerous green treasures found a new home on the day.

Between fragrant herbs, vigorous young vegetable plants and creative garden ideas, people browsed, talked shop and, of course, laughed a lot. It was wonderful to see how much joy the plants and the shared interest in gardening brought to everyone.

We say thank you! A big thank you to everyone who was there and filled this day with so much life. It is precisely these encounters and moments that make our farm festival so special every time. We are already looking forward to the next time at Kräuterhof!

Summer bonus: Refreshing tulsi iced tea

Do you already know Tulsi? 🍃

Holy basil is one of the most important plants in the Ayurvedic tradition. It is valued there for its balancing, calming properties and is one of the so-called adaptogens.

On hot days, I prefer to drink tulsi as an iced tea: refreshing, aromatic and with a subtle herbal note. Combined with fresh orange slices and a little honey, it makes a wonderful summer drink that not only tastes fantastic, but also brings a little bit of herbal knowledge into the glass. 🍊

The recipe:

  • 1 tbsp tulsi tea (loose)
  • 500 ml hot water
  • ½ Orange (in slices)
  • 1-2 tsp honey (to taste)
  • Ice cubes

And it’s that simple:

Pour the hot water over the Tulsi tea and leave to infuse for 8-10 minutes. Then strain and leave to cool completely. Stir in the honey, add the fresh orange slices and serve ice cold with plenty of ice cubes.

Enjoy it and bring summer into your glass!
