Preparation
Enjoy our Löwenkaffee like conventional filter coffee. Simply prepare it in a French press, in a filter or as mocha coffee. A hint of roasted hazelnuts and the slight sweetness of dandelion root make every cup an incomparable taste experience.
Optimal preparation:
Use 1 tablespoon per cup
Loosely fill the sieve with lion coffee
Add 100 g per liter of water to the filter and pour boiling water over it
Flavor
Lupin coffee has a unique flavor that is often described as mildly nutty and slightly malty. Many of our customers find that it tastes a bit like dark chocolate and although it contains no caffeine, we have a similar sensory taste experience on the tongue as with bean-to-bar coffee.
Manufacture
Lupin coffee is produced using a similar roasting process to conventional coffee. The lupin seeds are roasted until they develop a dark color and their full-bodied aroma. They are then ground and packed in aroma bags. We only roast small quantities so that the aroma is retained for a long time and there are no long storage periods.
For the production of our lupin coffee, we only use sweet lupin seeds that thrive on our own healthy fields under optimal conditions.
