Description
Workshop: Cyanotype
Painting with light
Discover the cyanotype process – an old photographic technique, completely without a camera, using only light. In addition to the classic cyanotype – working with light, sun and the characteristic Prussian blue – this time you will learn an extended, fascinating step from historical photography: tannin tinting.
During this three-hour workshop, you will make between 5 and 7 cyanotypes per person, depending on the paper format you choose. A herbarium is at your disposal, but you are also welcome to bring your own materials (plants, lace doilies, silhouettes, negatives, etc.). I will guide you individually through your project.
What you can expect in the workshop
- Introduction to cyanotype (materials, exposure, development)
- Design your own unique pieces with plants and objects
- Revealing step & tannin tint: transformation from blue to sepia
- Space for experimentation, mindfulness and creative exchange
- No previous knowledge necessary
I look forward to welcoming you to the Artemis premises – for a time of discovery and creation together.
